About Me
With 20 years of primary school teaching experience, I bring a deep understanding of the classroom environment and how to engage students effectively. Now, as a children's author, I combine my love of storytelling with my teaching expertise to deliver fun, educational and memorable visits for both pupils and teachers.
What I Offer
I offer interactive sessions tailored to different year groups, designed to spark imagination and support key learning objectives in a way that complements your curriculum. My sessions can be tailored to focus on any of my books and their themes:

A Dormouse’s Tale – A gentle introduction to themes of environmental protection, courage and determination.

Girwin the Gonk: A Christmas Adventure – An enchanting festive tale about friendship, being yourself and the magic of Christmas.

Kyloe the Coo – An endearing tale that encourages empathy and generosity.
Options could include:

Author Assemblies – Interactive presentation about being an author, the writing process and where my ideas come from.

Creative Writing Sessions – Usually between 30-45 minutes per session, which can be tailored to different year groups.

Read-Aloud Sessions – Storytelling with Q&A, perfect for younger children.

Alternative Workshops – Some of the other sessions I offer include: art-based activities; outdoor activities, e.g. building a new house for Dormouse; dance activities; and drama activities.

The children had an absolutely brilliant day with Linda when she visited our school. Her beautiful books really captured their imaginations and they found the stories spellbinding.

Linda worked with each of our classes, tailoring the sessions she delivered so that they were appropriately engaging and challenging for all of our children from Reception to Year 6. Time was spent outside in our woodland areas creating homes for a character from one of her stories and, with the oldest children, Linda talked us through the process of writing a book – from an initial idea, through drafting and editing and to the finished, published outcome.

The children were challenged to create characters of their own, using Linda’s work as a scaffold for writing, and responded brilliantly. We all learned so much about how authors take their ideas from their starting points to the books we hold in our hands – there was so much fascinating information about how illustrators complete their work and how many drafts, edits and decisions are made along the publishing journey.
